Sad little tulip sprouts. May be overwatered.

These were ruined by keeping them in the refrigerator with apples. Ripening apples emit ethylene. Ethylene inhibits flowering. I've had dozens of tuips do this over this past winter.

This one should have had ethylene poisoning as well. Hopefully it will gather enough energy to be able to sprout next year.

If you look closely you can see what the bulbs look like in these poisoned plants. The tips retain the advertised color (purple) while the rest of the bud is pale, shriveled and weak. I just cut them out and hope the greenery survives.

In the center of this picture you can pick out the yellowed left-overs of ethylene-exposed tulips after i finally transplanted them outside as a last ditch effort to save them.

This plant (what ever it is called) owes nothing to me. it and 4-5 others like it (just as happy and purple as this one) were planted in my backyard last summer by my mother.

This was a gorgeous amarylis. It seems that two of the four blossoms were fertilized because the seed pods are still growing.
